On the occasion of the February meetings of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), IMAL director Rachid Ennassiri has authored a briefing on "Morocco’s strategic role in shaping green shipping at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)".
By positioning itself as a maritime future e-fuels hub as demonstrated by joint research by the Moroccan specialized climate think tank, Imal Initiative for Climate and Development, in partnership with Transport & Environment (T&E), Morocco can leverage its expanding green hydrogen potential and infrastructure plans to advocate for policies that enable the scaling of zero-carbon fuels while aligning with its national interests. The upcoming IMO discussions provide a pivotal moment for the Kingdom to play a key role in shaping the energy transition of global shipping.
